Have you thought about starting a YouTube channel, creating a program with videos, or maybe challenging yourself to do Lives on the regular, but don’t seem to be taking any steps?
It’s easy to get stuck not moving forward on your exciting ideas because you don’t feel comfortable on camera.
This is where Feng Shui can help.
Feng Shui is the process of clearing space in your environment, arranging things for good energy flow, and surrounding yourself with objects you love that align with your values, message, and goals.
Applying this to visibility in marketing means taking a look at what you’re saying with the space around you when you’re on camera. Is your environment supporting you? Is it sharing a clear message to your potential clients?
When Zoom became our new reality, like many people, I opted to use the “green screens” available through the apps for my video backdrop. They seemed like an easy fix at the time, a way for me to go live without worrying about sprucing up what was behind me on camera.
Over time, though, I started asking myself, what does this virtual backdrop say about me? Is it conveying the message I want it to? Is it helping me feel confident showing up in my business?
In Feng Shui we learn that much of our environment is a symbolic reflection of our inner landscape. I had the gut feeling that not showing my real backdrop on screen was a way of keeping my authentic self hidden, and was contributing to my lack of confidence on camera.
To remedy this I turned to Feng Shui as a tool to create a supportive frame for myself. I spent time decluttering, asking questions about my values, gathering things that delighted me, and exploring what I wanted to share. Authentic confidence and more excitement for showing up on camera were the results of this time I spent behind the scenes developing my display.
The backdrop I have now feels like epic self-care for going live, and has given me a home base that is both grounding and inspiring.
If you, too, are ready to ditch the green screen and get moving forward with your on-camera projects, I’ve created Video Backdrops that Connect, a tiny course that guides you in using Feng Shui to make a super attractive, personally authentic video backdrop.
(It also has short videos on easy webcams, mics, where to get set up, etc, so you’re covered on the tech, too).
The process outlined in Video Backdrops that Connect sets you up with confidence to be more visible in your marketing and share your authentic self on camera. It’s a fun decluttering and decorating project with major benefits for your business. Click here to read more about Video Backdrops that Connect.
